We are members of the Association for Play Therapy (APT) United States, which is the governing body for each independent state branch. APT United States provides promotion, oversight, credentialing, training opportunities, and research for the play therapy field. The Association for Play Therapy develops best practices and commits to the ethics and guidelines of each licensing board.
In November 2023, our Alaska chapter was awarded the Gold Branch designation. The Gold Branch Award recognizes branch performance during the past year that significantly exceeds minimal charter criteria, i.e., growing membership, communicating with members, providing play therapy continuing education workshops to mental health professionals, and publicly promoting the value of play therapy.
